Fevre Dream by George RR Martin is a vampire with a setting similar (but much better written and realized) to the early Anne Rice Vampire books (Late 19th century riverboat culture). I love Martin's other work, but I wasn't a fan of this one. But most other Martin fans swear by it, so maybe its worth checking out.

I highly recommend The Vampire Sextette. It is a novel filled with 6 short stories of vampires and most have to do with music as well. It is one of the most amazing vampire books I've ever read.
