The widely appreciated and loved author Robert Jordan passed away this sunday. The cause of death was his blood disease amyloidosis.

I discovered this today, and I must say it saddens me, and many others on this forum I should think, greatly. It is a great loss to all who appreciated his work.

His last instalment of the Wot-series, A Memory of Light, was not yet finished at the time of his death. However Jordan has entrusted his own "private army of authors", including his closest family, with plot-lines. So if the book gets written and published (which is most likely), the series will end the way Robert Jordan wanted.

Aiel Mourning Song

From Tar Valon Library

Author: Robert Jordan

Life is a dream - that knows no shade.
Life is a dream - of pain and woe.
A dream from which - we pray to wake.
A dream from which - we wake and go.
Who would sleep - when the new dawn waits?
Who would sleep - when the sweet winds blow?
A dream must end - when the new dawn comes.
This dream from which - we wake and go.

Yeah I heard about his death yesterday morning. I'm sad he had to pass away so young (only 58). I am really looking forward to the final book for this great series.

me to. But I am sure that the last book will be a good work just the same.. But I can't help but think the result will not be the same:/
