Prior to reading the Dark Tower, I finished book nine of The Wheel of Time: Winter's Heart
Great saga, runs 14 books strong, and is by far the most intricate, and longest single novel I've read.
Not an easy read by any means, but it's one that if you can get yourself into and through the first book, you'll never stop until it's done.
Myself, after plowing through 9, i needed a break!
