OKOKOKOK

I wanted to skip Preacher, Red Son, and TDKR and go to Bendis's X-Men again, but tomorrow for reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal, I'll finish Red Son.

Also, what a cutie:

My view is, I finish stuff on my reading list before going back to stuff I've already read. I mean, I would love to read Red Son right now, but know I have a trade and about 7 singles ahead of when that can happen. It also motivates to finish them when I'm feeling lazy sometimes. And, who knows, you might always find a new "gem" in that stack of new stuff. I mean, my pull list is pretty tight, and I pretty much know all of it is gonna be pretty golden. But, I still enjoy re-reading classic every now and then. Like for me, I guess I read pretty fast. So, Red Son is a pretty simple 3 issue solid quality read. But, to re-read something like all 60+ issues of Preacher or American Vampire or something with a shit ton of issues, it takes a little bit more planning.

Hardest part of dealing with a read list is dealing with a collection of issues rather then a simple trade that is like 4-7 issues long.

I might just have to start breaking them apart, like:

Red Son
Preacher, 1-10
Bendis' All New X-men, 12-20,
etc.

Good idea. As much as I love Preacher and that Bendis run. I am still kinda astonished that you haven't read TDKR or Year One yet. When I started reading comics, everyone I ran into pretty much told me to start with stuff like those...

I have a problem LOL. I just got my Y: The Last Man tpb #6 in the mail. It took a little longer than normal and I got pretty antsy. So, I went ahead and just ordered 7-10 so I would just have the full story ready to be read. Man, it's so good. I think I might eventually try to pick up a nice set of the singles some day and store them in Mylar. Much like I will probably end up doing with my Saga singles. Man, am I ever glad I jumped on the Saga train in time. I think the first 2 issues are a fetching a couple hundred a piece in NM condition? The #1 especially.

Red Son in general has a very old school/fable like type of vibe which I like.
It also does alot of fan service in the book as well (mentions Hal Jordan, Gardner, wWoman, etc) that alot of people who are plugged into comics would like.
I think it's unique in the sense that it has a huge twist on Superman's backstory and it's just a very different story than what people are use to.
It's probably not in my top list of comics, but I think it's a must read take on Superman.

Dam, you'd be willing to invest in collecting some of the Y singles? Can't be cheap, man.

The part that had me choked up (literally), is when Superman was flying the black hole bomb thing away from Earth and just sorta says to himself "well played, old friend", in relation to Lex Luther. That was beautiful in my opinion. It's like the entire story builds to that single moment. It was so perfect.

I wasn't THAT big of a fan of Red Son, but I'm falling instantly in love with Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Holy shit, I'm excited to see how it turns out.
