The Magic of Recluce
THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SAGA OF RECLUCE by L.E. Modesitt

(well I think thats the english title?^^)

9/10 anyway, really good book, it got an interesting plot and differs from your "normal"(Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, David Eddings, etc) fantasy a little bit, imo

The Day of the Triffids - John Wyndham.
It was a very good science-fiction book.
The writing style was a little bit old fashioned, but still understandable.
It beats the TV series they made of it anyday!

Haven't read/seen this one, but books often beats the TV series/movies made of the books. (ergaon, sword of truth/legen of the seeker) for example...

only one I could say were actually good as movie (as I've read/seen) is Lord of the Rings

OT: The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings for like the sixth time, really good fantasy.
