actually intellegent debate is based on the idea that you can respect the other's views.
What's actually been happening, is that they've been telling you "The grass is green" and you've been screaming "MUD IS BROWN SO YOU'RE WRONG."
This thread is not about the validity of your views. It's about whether Wheel of Time is worth the amount you spend on it, and claiming you're glad RJ is dead is one (horrible) way to show how much you think it's worth.
To me, you sound alot like pwd3, and your join date of Oct 23 doesn't satisfy my curiosity either. It would be pretty lame if he would reduce himself to making a new acc just to pretend like someone is supporting him ,wouldnt it be? We'll see.
Intelligent debate may rely on respect, but it is not based on respect. What I said, which you obviously didn't read, was entirelly respecting Achilles and his opnion, and despite our obvious differences ( he doesn't like Goodkind) we where able to maintain an intelligent conversation comparing opnions, and discussing the matter at hand while each of us supported our argument with or against the other with realistic data, as I attempted to understand his fundamental reasoning for his dislike.
When you say
What's actually been happening, is that they've been telling you "The grass is green" and you've been screaming "MUD IS BROWN SO YOU'RE WRONG." you are implying that both parties are correct, which is not only impossible but downright ignorant. Both me and pwb3 could not possibly be correct, anymore than could Islam and Judaism both be the way to heaven.

Thats not true at all. This thread wasn't made for people to say "I like it" "I don't like it" "I love it" "I hate it" If people cant express their validity of their views, or their reasoning, than the purpose of a forum is completely meaningless. Claiming im glad RJ is dead is eniterly an expression of opinion, and according to your definition of intelligent debate, should be treated with respect. pwb3 violated this definition to the core. This in itself doesn't particularly bother me. What bothers me is that he flames me for not respecting others, "like he does", yet he exempts himself from such reasoning, and no doubt feels justified.
If I were to say I eat people, pwb3 would flame me for not respecting others while he exempts himself.
