Song of Fire and Ice seires.

Raymond E. Fiest, start with The Magicians Apprentice book. This is the book that got me into reading. Highly recommend if you did not read it.

Harry Potter is ok if you are 15...  They were good reads just not my type being mid 20s and some lil boy wizard saving the world bleh.

So you'd rather read some Ayn Rand bullshit mixed with rape fantasies?

I can't believe nobody's mentioned The Name of the Wind, first part of the Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. I just finished reading it earlier today and it was definitely one of the best fantasy pieces I've read to date.

Eragon Series

The Iron Elves Series (so far 2 books)

1st book is called "A Darkness Forged in Fire" -- i like this series as much as eragon

good fantasy series with elves and such

the iron elves is a little more mature and incorporates fantasy with war

Back when I read fantasy, the Magic: The Gathering series were actually pretty good. They had some decent writing coupled with a Dungeons and Dragons theme which is fairly amusing.

I read book one and two when I was a HS freshmen in English class, independent reading. That was a pretty good book. I might pick up on it again because of how I got sucked into the first book.
