I refuse to read anything else he does because all that shit is what is keeping him away from finishing this series.

Awwww cmon! :P

I used his kids book The Ice Dragon for a novel study to teach grade 3's. And his short stories are fantastic. But yea, I can see everyones frustrations. Damned Martin said on his blog that he is trying to aim DWD to be completed by june and published for autumn, but we all know it will probably be another year for DWD and probably 8years for Winds of Winter :-((((

Yea I remember when he originally announced A Feast for Crows, and then it was pushed back what... 1 year? 2 years? It took him a total of 5 years I believe to write it. It came out in 05, second one had come out in 2000.

And now it's 09 and fifth one is still not likely to come out anytime soon.

The guy is a lazy fuck.

I dunno if he's lazy... hes just works on so many writing projects on at once... he cant stick to one thing, its rediculous.... like.... All of those Wild Card novels... and he travels as well... Hedge Knight graphic novels (which look amazing!!!) and many other works... If the douche stook with DWD, i would be a much happier person ;)

look back at his first novels though. They where all released within 2 years of each other.

What does that have to do with anything? He got a ton of fans through this series, the least he could do is work hard for those fans to finish it. He also got rich off of this series.

I can't write anything as good as his first 3 within 2 years of each other, but I can certainly write something as bad as his 4th one in 5 years.



I'm just saying.. something happened to Martin. I think he died and somebody is trying to impersonate him.

I'm just saying with as complex of a series as this is, I'm betting he's written hundreds of drafts and scratched them all because it didn't flow like he wanted it too. The pressure from millions of fans to finish something probably doesn't help. All I know is that if he rushes just to finish it, and it turns out shit, I'll be severely pissed off.

agreed, but hes WAY too slow with DWD and working on a bunch of other random shit. He knows that his fanbase is getting quite agitated with the length of time he takes to write this damned 5th book in the series.... he should slow down his other projects and finally finish this series off and not focus on so many different things at once.
