Anyhoo: this is the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb

I've finished reading the first one, and now I'm about half in the 2nd :)
I've already read these books, and I can tell you ... they're awesomezorzzzzz

The trilogy itself is also part 1 of another trilogy (which makes it a Nineology or something like that :D)
