Tbh, I haven't read comics over the past week.

Btw, this is what I got the past comic-con. Very disappointing :(

Usually, I pick up a shit ton of trades and single issues, but nothing there that really came off as a good deal.
The good thing is, at least I'm 2-3 issues from completing the superior spiderman run.

Yeah, that doesn't look too exciting. Especially because Superior Spider-Man was the most disappointing book I had ever read. It had a great premise and started out good. But, like most things Marvel, fails to deliver in the end. Like... If you are gonna go and make Doc Oc Spider-Man. Just do it. Go all out. No turning back. But no, they went and made Ghost Peter without finishing the 1st dozen issues I believe? And then, give Peter his body back after 20 I believe? I don't know. Stopped reading after 18 I think. What a waste that was.

What happened to Preacher man? How far did you get and why did you give up? It only gets better as it goes on... I will admit, there was one middle arc that was pretty lame/boring. But, I remember after that, it was all "up hill". Rounding out to an amazing finish with the last couple arcs...

I finished the first 5 tpbs of Y: The Last Man. Ordered 6. My god, I cannot get enough. It's soooo fucking good.

Yea, last time I went, I got a whole bunch of Bendis' Daredevil Ultimate Collections trades, alot of Straczynski's Spiderman, and a shit ton of other singles...all great steals price wise. This time, I got Frank Miller's Elektra for $5, and a copy of Ed Brubaker's Captain America for $5 too, so I guess it wasn't a total waste of time. Got the back issues of Superior spiderman for $1-2.

Eh, I don't what happened to Preacher, I know it's heralded, but it didn't get me hooked. Might be a Sex Criminals thing, where I have to give it time before it pays off. I might revisit it after I get through some X-Men I plan on reading.

Where are you at in Y:the last man? Its been a few years, but it was soo good I remember it pretty vividly.

Trade 5 ended with Ampersand getting captured by the ninja and them looking at boarding a boat to Japan?

Edit: I forgot Miller wrote that Elektra run. Anything by him is ok with me.

The Dark Knight Returns is probably the greatest read for me, imo. It doesn't get much better than that for me. It was literally 4 perfect issues. A perfect overall story. I honestly can't believe he failed so hard with Strikes Again. It had so much potential to be a decent follow up. But, I think because he decided to draw it himself. And half assed most of the art. I think he swamped himself with the workload, and thus, the story suffered as well. I still have it. Might read it again one day. It definitely wasn't the worst. Just hard to live up to it's predecessor. I think it had a lot of potential story wise too.

If ever there was a book that the original creator should be given a second chance at redemption to redo it, it's definitely The Dark Knight Strikes Again. If someone told me Miller was redoing the art and polishing the story/dialogue, I would be all in to buy it again.

Man, I never read both of those before either. I really ought to get caught up with some of the must-reads.
I'm a HUGE daredevil fan after Ed Brubaker's run and Bendis's run, and I think Frank Miller did a heralded Daredevil run as well.

Right now, I'm currently readying X-Mens: Schism

Before Days of Future past movie came out, I started reading Whedon and Grant Morrison's X-Men. Loved them both and started reading Bendis's All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men. Now I can't get enough of X-Men.

I have yet to really read a super exciting X-Men run aside from Battle of the Atom. Which, for me was amazing. And that's saying a lot. I am not normally a huge X-Men fan. And as you can see from my collection, it takes a lot to add a Marvel title to my personal collection of keeps. So, ya. BOTA was awesome. And at 10 issues, a solid run. AvX was ok. Nothing too special, and really drawn out with no consequences per usual via Marvel's status quo. I really enjoyed Age of Ultron though. So, you might like that as well. I heard Miller's Daredevil was great. On my list etc.

Dark Knight Returns is def a must read. It's very wordy. But tells an amazingly detailed story. The best part about it is the vivid descriptions and dialogues. It's bar-none, the best Batman book ever. So before it's time. I honestly to this day can't believe it was written in 1986. If I had read that book then, well, if I were alive then... But if I HAD read it then, my head would have literally exploded lol. It's truly revolutionary. Between his Batman: Year One 4 issue series and this. Which, btw, are both considered like the number 1 and number 2 best comic stories of all time lol. Pretty funny that Miller wrote both of them...

I am however going to read X-Men: Age of Apocalypse (the 90's series). Since, the art is very close to the animated series (which I loved as a kid). And, I was told it's considered to be the definitive X-Men story.

Days of Future Past (the comic) was EXTREMELY disappointing btw. The movie was pretty "meh" as well. Definitely better than the comic though. My god that was awful. I bought the trade, only to find out like 2 of the 6 issues in it are related to DOFP. The rest is just bad filler with awful writing of it's day. The two issues that make up DOFP are very lackluster and have that really awful old writing style that is just laughable these days...

Days of Future Past wasn't the best comic book movie, but it was my favorite X-Men movie, haha. Did you like Captain America: Winter Soldier?
