In an interview of Rowling, she is questioned without revealing anything too important to the plot. A specific question asked during this interview, was about upcoming deaths. This is what leads me to believe that Dumbledore will not be alone much longer. This is a quote from Rowling herself, "I need to be more explicit: Dumbledore is definitely dead." So that pretty much blows your theory out of the water, however you did a good job thinking it through. What leads me to believe that Dumbledore will have company soon, quoted from Rowling states this when asked if she could, what characters would she have over for dinner: "Harry, Ron, and Hermione... [Rowling pauses; thinks about a different character who's dead but does not say his/her name. King interjects: "they could be dead"]. Dumbledore.... [another pause]. Hagrid."

That pause leaves me to believe that Hagrid may not be that "healty" in the next book. My opinions are based entirely on what I get from you guys, and sites concerning the controversy on the subject.

I suggest you read over the following pages for controversial takes on the subject:

Their Reasoning:

Clues/Reasoning behind these ideas:

Clues/Reasoning that It was setup between Snape and Dumbledore:

Possible loopholes in the story:

More proof in such on the demise of Dumbledore:

There are plenty of ways you can research this , and even more concerning the interviews taken place with Rowling. I have no doubt that Dumbledore will appear in some way shape or form in the next book. Whether it be something he left behind, someone talk to him in a photo, or ( like harry had seen his parents ) as a ghost. You will never know until you read the next book I presume. But as I have previously stated, I have not and do not plan on reading any of it. I read 1-4 of the series a few years back, and haven't had the urge to pick it back up. But I did find it interesting that Dumbdore was pronounce dead, so I have done a little research to better examine a theory on it. However in all controversy, Deagol deserves well earned credit in his reasonable theory, but I now think Dumbledore is dead and will not physically return.

So what, would Rowling actually say that Dumbledore is ALIVE, after everyone is thinking he is dead?

That would ruin the entire next book, don't you think?

No, however I doubt she would have said No the way she when when asked if he was still alive. I felt she was getting rather annoyed being asked so many times. She answered it pretty stern, however I do think the next book will have a very exciting plot twist. I'm half tempted to read the ones I've missed before that one releases.

i think he should be dead just for the simple little fact that if he isnt. That WHOLE SCENE WOULD BE A WASTE OF
TIME.

Here is my reasoning for thinking Dumbledore is still alive.

In all the books, when someone is killed by the Avada Kedavra curse, they simply just drop dead.

At the beginning of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Professor Slughorn had them make a potion called the "Draught of Living Death", it makes the drinker fall asleep but appear dead.

Remember 1/2 way through the book, Hagrid tells Harry he overheard Dumbledore and Snape fighting about something and Dumbledore telling Snape he had to promise that he would do it, whatever they were going to do.

Towards the end of the book when Snape performs the Avada Kedavra curse on Dumbledore, Dumbledore just doesnt drop dead, he is blasted backwards and out of the tower. Later on when Harry and Hagrid approach Dumbledores dead body, Harry says to himself that Dumbledore looked more like he was sleeping. Also, after Draco took Dumbledores wand, it was no where to be found afterwards.

At the funeral for Dumbledore, no one saw his body, just of what Harry knew was his body. And when the tomb burst into flames, Harry thought to himself he saw a Phoenix disappear into the air.. Phoenix's can transport people.

Just my 2 cents on how I think Dumbledore is still alive, yes, im a nerd.

what a fuckin theory lol. god i hope ur right, before i read book 6 my buddy was tellin me "snape is a real important role in this one" so i was thinkin shit hes gonna actually start actively going against voldemort. then he fuckin blasts dumbledore and i was fucking shocked... my buddy was laughin his ass off... i was not amused

<<<<just to point this out draco didnt take the wand he used the expleliomus jync/curse (disarming curse) and his wand is flung away>>>

At the funeral for Dumbledore, no one saw his body, just of what Harry knew was his body. And when the tomb burst into flames, Harry thought to himself he saw a Phoenix disappear into the air.. Phoenix's can transport people.

but u know the accio jynx/curse for accio wand would work and as u know silent casting is what snape tells harry he needs to master to have a chance

but i would never have thought of this if u hadnt pointed this out good eye for detail
