i hated reading this book for school...

Would have to agree with this I also liked where the red fern grows but we read that in like 6th grade.
I realy didn't like to kill a mocking bird but most everyone else in my class did so IDK.

I read it back when I was in high school. eh... nothing special IMO.

i read it in in school suspension in 8th grade lol

To Kill a Mockingbird was great, movie was pretty damn good for b/w

I really liked flowers for algernon i think we read that in 10th grade.

In my school we read To Kill a Mockingbird in grade 9 as well as the Lord of the Flies, and Romeo and Juliet.

All Great books, but if you can handle a dry read, you should definitely pick up the book "Grapes of Wrath" and "The Color Purple"

had to read it for school, it's written in a nice style, but the story never really touched me not really

Yeah, it's ok but as I've said before and I'm sure you'll agree. Of Mice and Men is a much better classical American example of good lit.
