ok heres a fantastic series you MUST read

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman

Golden Compass,
Subtle Knife,
Amber Spyglass

its better than harry potter trust me

It's much better than Harry Potter but it's still a children's book, a good book to read when you're youngr but not so good for people in their late teens, though I've got no idea how old the OP is.

are you saying you consider the HP series as childrens books?

i dont, i dunno

HP books are most definitely childrens books, the language and plot are childish. Sure adults read them, they're still childrens books though.

Check out The Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix.... Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen...

Some of the best books I've ever read. They are Fantasy-Adventure type boots.

Then again... pretty much all of Nix's books rock. I havent had the chance to pick up all of the Key's to the Kingdom yet.. but I'd really like to.

The Obsidian Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory, The Halfblood Chronicles if not mistaken again by Mercedes Lackey with another author Andre Norton if Im not mistaken.
Also by James Mallory is Merlin: The Old Magic, Merlin: The King's Wizard, and Merlin: The End of Magic.
But my fave series would have to be the Anne McCaffery Pern series. That is what got me back into reading.

Chronicles of Narnia or Artemis Fowl's series.

Also by C.S. Lewis

* Out of the Silent Planet (1938)
* Perelandra (aka Voyage to Venus) (1943)
* That Hideous Strength (1946)

It's the space trilogy.
