I can think of fantasy novels that are far far better for people that are over 14 years old, harry potter is fine for children but there's such better choices for an older audience.

Why do you say that? I think the writing got more sophisticated. Basically, Harry's character became more and more like an emotional and agressive teenager, and by book 5 he's completely loosing it, and having no respect for authority! Brilliant

that stuff is true but the books lost suspense, the first 400 pages of book 6 were boring then when i hit 400 i couldn't put it down

I had the worst experiences. Generally, when a new HP book comes out, i read it the day i got it. Took me 2 days to read HP5 and 2 days to read HP6. I was in school reading in my tutorial, on book 5. I was about.... 2 chapters from the end, and this fucker across the table from me tells me the ending, so i punched him in the face. HP6 was slightly more different, and still gay as it gets. I'm at my theater group, me and my mate luke are both reading it, and we had a scene to rehearse so we put the books down and the lil girls grab the books, flick through them, and tell us who dies. We both wanted to kill them!!
