I agree, but I think that they might have tried to do a bit too much.  Still great though

I thought you never read them?

I really think Tyrion is the most enjoyable of the characters. I can't wait to find out where he goes off to. And Theon! What happened to him?!!?!?

the 4th book is garbage. I lost all faith in G.R.R. Martin.

I read the books a long time ago but I still remember my frustration:

When the obnoxious mother finally died, I was like FINALLY NOW GET ON WITH THE STORY FOR ONCE and instead he just resurrected the mom. great.

The two kids -- I forget their names -- the cripple and his little brother, are running away the whole time with the frog people and nothing ever happens to them. It's so annoying.

The only character I was even remotely interested was the girl with the dragons, and instead of invading the land like she said she would for 4 whole books, she decides to just sit in a castle across the ocean and chill.

The author doesn't know what to do, he's created beginning of a great story, and huge potential for all these characters, and now hes completely clueless as to how to continue it.

Don't get me wrong, his first 3 books where excellent, but his 4th book was SO BAD I couldn't even believe it was the same author.

Also, Goodkind is infinitely superior. Nothing I've ever read in my life was as encaptivating as Goodkind, and I read alot.

Definitely. I thought a feast for crows was a tad boring, but definitely necessary. All he did was add more plot for the fifth book. It'll be a good one, mark my words.

I think the 4th book was easily the worst in the series. Bran and Arya clearly have some future role in this. I liked following Jaime Lannister around, but that's about it. Cersei is such a bad character. I also don't know about the idea that the 5th book is going to take place coincidentally with the 4th. However, it is going to follow some of the better characters (Daenerys, Tyrion, Jon Snow).
