I'm in the middle of a series called the Dragon Lance series. it's pretty nice. has alot of characters ranging from mage to paladin. It has Gods and Magic and even some inside political messages. it is pretty much straight out of D&D and it is addicting. there are probably twenty in the series, and if you like Goodkind (and I loved them) then you will like Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's Dragon Lance.

i was going to suggest these my favorite authors and if you like those check out the death gate series by them even better

The Dark Tower series. Stephen King. It's one of my favourite series. But The Witcher series are the best! I love them, I came from Poland so it would be crome if I didn't recommend it. The Witcher is worth reading. Btw, sorry for bad english

You might appreciate Kate Mosse's Labyrinth. It's a relatively new time-lapse medieval fantasy book. I loved it, and still rank it up there alongside the Stephen King Dark Tower series.
