definitely not

these books are WAY longer than the should be. they are 800-1000 page books with so much useless information in them that makes them boring

if they were like 500-600 and they took out stuff that you don't need to know they would be good

You say the books are long, but there are millions of fans telling him to hurry up with the next book. If you ask me, as an avid fan, his books are if anything too short. And that says a lot about the quality of his writing. His writing has been consistently good, besides the fourth book, that millions of people are eagerly waiting another 1300+ page book.

I don't have anything against long books, but books that are needlessly long are just boring

another criticism of the book is he kills of way too many of the main characters, its better when you connect to the protagonist, not have him/her dead

That's good for the first 100,000 shows/movies, but once in a while it's neat to see main characters die sporadically to remind us of their mortality.

The books are really good though and I enjoyed them.

One cool aspect I didn't see mentioned yet is that there are little details that give away things that would otherwise go unnoticed (this is mainly for devoted readers or those that will go back and re-read to catch things they missed the first time)

How is there so many threads on the "Game of Thrones" Novels? Game of Thrones is only book one. Read the shit and find out. It is the only fantasy series I know that people who don't read fantasy normally, universally like.
