Here is my reasoning for thinking Dumbledore is still alive.

In all the books, when someone is killed by the Avada Kedavra curse, they simply just drop dead.

At the beginning of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Professor Slughorn had them make a potion called the "Draught of Living Death", it makes the drinker fall asleep but appear dead.

Remember 1/2 way through the book, Hagrid tells Harry he overheard Dumbledore and Snape fighting about something and Dumbledore telling Snape he had to promise that he would do it, whatever they were going to do.

Towards the end of the book when Snape performs the Avada Kedavra curse on Dumbledore, Dumbledore just doesnt drop dead, he is blasted backwards and out of the tower. Later on when Harry and Hagrid approach Dumbledores dead body, Harry says to himself that Dumbledore looked more like he was sleeping. Also, after Draco took Dumbledores wand, it was no where to be found afterwards.

At the funeral for Dumbledore, no one saw his body, just of what Harry knew was his body. And when the tomb burst into flames, Harry thought to himself he saw a Phoenix disappear into the air.. Phoenix's can transport people.

Just my 2 cents on how I think Dumbledore is still alive, yes, im a nerd.

You know I read the book several times, and I didn't once come across this reasoning. You sir are very sharp.

Crazy brain, amazing find. If what you say is correct there is only one way Dumbledore can be dead...JK Rowling kills him!! But I don't see that happening. He is such a prominent character is the series. Kudos to you!

"Rowling clarified that "Dumbledore is definitely dead", when asked by Salman Rushdie and others at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Rowling answered the same question three times, each time with increasing conviction."

OMG.
This reasoning looks godly.
My only reasoning for thinking that Dumbledore is still alive is because he's like the best wizard ever.
KUDOS for you!

very nice reasoning, sounds rly like dumbledore is alive but,
i read the german version so i dunno mayb they translated anything wrong or whatever...but they say like his dead body looks very like his arms and legs are broken and so on...
only his face looks like his sleeping and so on...and i think its pretty difficult to survive if u fall down from a high tower and break ur legs and arms...even as best wizard ever

Dude, that actually made me quite horny reading. You make some very VERY valid points... If you are right, i'm gonna come and find you, even if it involves traveling over to wherever you live, i'm taking you down the pub and buying you a hooker + a pint!!

Only the coolest nerds like Harry Potter smile.gif Never forget that

Thats a point. Don't forget, Snape is an incredibly powerful wizard and with the anger/confusion/hatred/passion he was feeling at the time, his Avada Kedavra curse would have had the energy to blast someone backwards. I coulda sworn that AV curse was used before and sent someone flying backwards.... alright, time start again. afk reading happy.gif
