You cannot be serious. I'm going to stop there before I fucking rage all over you kid.

I admit the series died out in the end but it started off as one fucking amazing piece of work. I HIGHLY suggest reading The Sword of Truth series, takes fantasy and sci-fi to a whole new level. War, Pain, and Love become more real to you then anything else.

First 3-4 books are worth a read. After that it's up to you.

As some others have said: The Sword of Truth is terrible. It starts out ok, but each book is exponentially worse than the one before it.

Stuff that is good:
George R.R. Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire
R. Scott Bakker - The Prince of Nothing
Patricia McKillip - Riddlemaster trilogy
Guy Gavriel Kay - Anything by this guy. Start with Tigana.
Ursula le Guin - Earthsea trilogy.
Lois McMaster Bujold - Curse of Chalion, Paladin of Souls, etc.

Stuff that is a little off the beaten path, not standard fantasy:
Jeff Vandermeer - Veniss Underground, City of Saints and Madmen, Shriek
China Meiville - The Scar, Perdido Street Station
Jeffrey Ford - The Physiognomist
K.J. Bishop - The Etched City (Bolded for awesomeness).

Added:
Orson Scott Card - The Alvin Maker series.
