An opinion, by definition is a personal view or attitude, and therefore subjective. And biased, although usually having a negative connotation, really just suggests the inclination of a sample's thoughts or views. So by definition, aren't all opinions, technically biased?

I agree with you that the writer of eragon is freaking worthless.  Rushed story, haphazardly put together world.  He ripped ideas from about every fantasy author, and somehow managed to make it tasteless.  He does not even compare to even the lesser of fantasy authors.  I felt like he rushed through every sentence of the book, then randomly decided to add a little detail here or an explanation there with no apparant tact or reason.  The idea and world behind the books are not bad, but as a writer.... he blows

And for any of you that would like a more sophisticated read, find the book "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell". I bought it by whim and loved every minute of it.

Heh...because I personally don't think he is. I don't think he's a bad one. He does have a flair for over the top characters and storytelling. There's certainly a niche for power-gaming wet dreams put into novel form. But I wouldn't place him amongst the best fantasy authors today.

And interesting stuff on Morgan. I actually didn't know he was dipping into the epic fantasy market. Will be something different for him and I'll be interested in any take he has on the genre. About the only problem thus far I can see are the names. I HATE 90% of the names in fantasy literature. Apostrophes should be banned. As well as any name more than 3 syllables.
