I thought
Heart of Darkness,
The Great Gatsby,
The Catcher in the Rye and the
Bible were all interesting. I think it really depends on how you analyze the text. I'm just commenting on some of the books that I see people here don't like.
Oh, and someone said they didn't like the
Iliad. I didn't read the Iliad, but I read the Odyssey, and I loved it! I actually want to read the Iliad in the future.
I've never read
Grapes of Wrath, and it seems like I want to stay away from it. Believe it or not, I've never read any of the LOTR books, and I've barely watched any of the movies. I'm just not into it that much.
I'm currently reading this book that's just completely involuntary on my part. It's for a literature class.
Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima. It's a semi-autobiographical book about the author, who is the narrator but names himself "Kochan." He's a homosexual, and the book pretty much describes how he discovered those feelings of homosexuality. He has his first orgasm to the picture of St. Sebastian. I'm only 100 pages (it's about 300 pages long) through it and I want to put it down every time I complete a sentence. It's such a slow read
