One of Robert Jordan's books, I think it might have been the 5th or 6th one.  But it was like 700 pages of bratty little girls talking about tea.  I lost all faith in that author after that.

It was the 10th - Robert Jordan said it sucked himself

...boring - maybe War and peace.

Ye but you're still kinda glad you read it coz now you can talk to your friends about how much better Dostoevsky is - even Mikhail Bulgakov is

Can't believe anyone would ever mention Steinbeck and boring in the same sentence, such a shame that most of you don't appreciate the best novel about the dust bowl era ever written.

Anyway mine are either The Awakening or Heart of Darkness, while both are supposed to be landmark books in a sense I just could not get interested in them at all.

I have to admit I really liked Heart of Darkness - havent got to reading The Awakening yet

Because it serves an importance in literature?
Books don't need to be appealing to the grand majority of readers for it to be constantly read.

The bible proves this - pardon americans

Im not sure if i actually thought it boring or if I just completely disliked it but... Farewell to Arms should've never be read or written. If judged by boredom alone Allan Greenspan's An age of Turbulence definitely comes to mind.

Lord of Bones was pretty blah for a good portion of the book, seemed like it was 90% character development and the span of maybe a few days, then like a chapter about a big battle and everything coming together, and a chapter in conclusion, which leaves it wide open for a 2nd book.... (or 3rd i guess, since this is supposed to be the second in the series, although you would never know it by looking at the book, description, etc, only by realizing you seemed to have jumped into the middle of a story...)

I've read a lot of dry philosophical books and dry history books in my day.

Sometimes you just have to read it.
