Knife of Dreams

Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Got a sudden urge to read it and bam! Finished it in one go, lol :D

Actually love the Perrin parts in this book while I otherwise think he's one of the more tedious persons to read about. Elayne/Egwene/Nynaeve is worst though ._.

Yeah. I like the Perrin's concept as a character but I'm 11 books in and he's only just starting to come to terms with his abilities? Frustrating.

As for the girls; I agree that Elayne's campaign for the Lion throne is pretty boring and that Nynaeve is just annoying but I'm (strangely) finding Egwene's espionage in the White Tower to be pretty interesting.

I know right? I think in book 13 or so that Perrin will go into beastmode ;>

Actually I was thinking of that, Egwenes part when she became the Amyrlin was pretty interesting. But Faile on the other hand is one of the most boring characters ever made. I liked her the first time you came across her when Perrin was on the way to Tear with Lan and Moiraine, but after? Gods...

I don't really like Faile much either but she does contribute a fair chunk to the story during her time as gai'shain. Her imprisonment changes Perrin and, like it or not, he's one of the main characters.

It's curious that there's so many unlikable characters but the story wouldn't be half as good without them.

If every character were likeable then the book would be really boring to read about. I mean imagine it, not every character should be likeable or who would you root for etc?

Agreed.

I finished The Gathering Storm Last night.

The end of the book brought extremely satisfying conclusions to several worrisome issues.

You can definitely tell that the book was a collaboration but I think Sanderson did a good job of staying true to the characters if not Jordan's style of writing.

I actually think he did a fair job. I mean he tries to keep the characters personalities but he still writes in his own style. Which is good as it's REALLY hard to copy someone else

I'm no writer or critic (I'm far too easy to please to give criticism) but I imagine it's probably taboo to copy another author's style even if you're finishing his work.
