I assume he's going to steal the princess in tDoS.
This being said, my assumption is the 4th book in the series will be present day Kvothe, and his journey of regaining his powers and breaking the 3rd silence.

Quote (The wise man's fear )
For nearly four years, fantasy and science fiction enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting this second volume to Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles. The first volume, The Name of the Wind, won the prestigious Quill Award and was recently voted as the third-best SFF novel of the decade on Tor.com. In this linchpin book of the trilogy, Kvothe continues his perilous search for answers about the Chandrian even as he grapples with more pressing dangers.

Says its an trilogy, so there'll be another series then with present day Kvothe, and that would be something to read. But who knows? Most authors are known for cliff hangers ( imo )

Glad to know this is getting more popular. Every time I'd mention Name of the Wind to friends reading fantasy, they'd be like Huh, Who?

My favorite part was definitely the Adem mercenary village. It was so delicately and intricately done, and of course it had a bunch of epic fight scenes.

Yes, it's a trilogy. Making books that branch off, doesn't change the amount of books over all though. Take the Drizzt books for instance. Each set of books has a seperate linchpin "series" name, but they all run together as a whole.

True that! But there could also be like Raymond E. Feists books about Midkemia, which are like seperated by up to 5-10 up to 50 years between them ;]

If you'll notice in the first book(i believe?), it was stated that Kvothe as an innkeeper is no older than his mid twenties.

Im honestly too tired to bring together anything more coherent than pointing out the fact that there can't be a huge time gap when he's a teenager in WMF, and mid twenties present day.

/e as Meluans sister 'got kidnapped by those ravel bastards" or some such and Kvothes mother had a noble upbringing

Read that on Goodreads, as I'm assuming you did too. Mind was blown.

I finished both books in two days, it's definitely made it's way to being one of my favourite fantasy series, however, I thought that the second book wasn't as good as the first.

I actually just decided to re-read them while I'm waiting for A Memory of Light.

Did the same ^^ Just finished a wise mans fear and I noticed that when Kvothe is at Felurians place she speaks about the fellow who stole the moons name (Iax or Jax) and that "he's locked behind the doors of stone"

Third book: The Doors of Stone

I mean oh my god! Will he meet him and perhaps fight him? The intrigues is awesome :D love em!

And I kinda like the first book better aswell tbh, even though the second got more content in it. I love the Skarpi part and when Kvothe saves Fela from the fire in the fishery ;]
