If it was written by some different authors directed to an adult crowd then it could have had a lot more depth to it but like everyone says, it's a quick entertaining read. Movie matched up details and facts fairly accurately too.

My daughter convinced me to read these books. Overall I liked them. I love to find books I want to read over and over again but I doubt I will read these again.

I've read the first 2 books of the series and liked them both, I'll definitely read the third one aswell.

havent read the book, but the basing on the movie the story is childish and while it clearly has a message and an idea, to me it seems kinda forced and annoyingly obvious.

however, i give some points for imagination (still based on the movie).

The Hunger Games was a good book. Read it shortly after it came out, so i wasn't "Sucked into the Hype" of it being an excellent book or something cause of the movie coming out. So i enjoyed it for it actually being a book, rather than just reading it to compare to the movie and not paying any attention to the plot.

Catching Fire was mainly just filler detail that didn't do much until the end, in which the Rebellion actually started.

Mockingjay was Okay, but it was fairly dull. Predictable, and simple. The Hunger Games was definitely the only one of them was any good to reread a few times personally.

Can't wait for the next two movies though, to see if they stick to the plot line as well as the first one did. I tossed it back and forth whether the book or movie was more enjoyable, but i have to go with the Movie, because you can see the arena more specifically than say with imagination(since i dont have much of one, lol)

problem i had with the books was lack of action. iirc less than half of each book was action.
