~try the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels, i really liked them at first, but i stopped reading them because A: they got too much about sex and B: i couldnt borrow them from my friend anymore

~Read the Dragonlance books, they all rock as far as i am concerned, however it gets a little confusing as some of the stories about raistlin majere do not coincide ¿

~ Death Gate Cycle is one of the greatest series ever, this should be on your list of books to read

~ all of R.A. Salvators books, especially the ones about dizzt do'urden and artemis enteri !!!

~all of the artemis fowl books

if i was at my house right now i would be able to tell you many many more books, however im at college and i cant remember all of the great books lol

i was typing this already when i saw you alrdy said the DragonLance series... and i dont feel like retypping what i did already lol.

I loved harry potter and im awaiting the new book/movie as well. the books im going to suggest arent really like harry potter, but i loved reading them just as much.

DragonLance Chronicles ... i believe there are 11 or 12 books in the series right now.

i find the the raistlin stories follow along very well. they arnt on the main story line, but they tell his life and who doesnt want to hear more about raistlin??!!

ahem, he has like 3 diff stories about what happend during the test lol, and yes i raislin too lol

plus the story about him having a child with one of the urda? which was later claimed to be "a kender tale"?

however raistlin does pwn all still!!!

i just started on the Ender Series. try that.

I agree the dark tower series has some elements you wil like and its a series..I always look for books in series

Im also a HP fan so Ill throw out some other series's you might like

Left behind series..possibly to religous for you

Charlie Bones..possibly too young but I enjoyed them

lol that was just "a kender tale" like you said. that was a great book also.
