...what's wrong with it? care to explain, or are you just one of those people that just like to complain, without any information to present, just because you can?

i've seen the movie, however i have not read the book.

i hear that are certain differences, but the movie was so awful that i don't really see how some slight differences can make the book that much better.

i could be wrong, though.

what are you talking about... the movie is amazing!
directed by one of the best, perfect soundtrack, interesting story, very artistic.
i don't see how anyone could not like this movie/book, to be honest...

also, if you didn't like it, because you didn't understand what the hell was going on (don't worry, i didn't at first either), read the book - it clarifies what's going on.

I've been reading a lot of the Hugo Award winning books, generally from the 90s and 80s. I enjoyed the concepts in Vinge's books a lot, as well as those in Simmons' Hyperion.

I also agree with the Dune books. The first one is superb, although the second is lacking. I remember the next three being good as well.

Douglas Adams - galactic's guide serie (fun sf)
Alain Damasio - a frensh autor, dunno when it will be translate... his second book is a fantastic sf story and can be feel as a philosophical book (imo)
Greg Egan... All books.

fahrenheit 451 is really good.

check out philip k. dick for some relevant and philosophical science fiction.

"solaris" from stanislew lem is amazing too

vouch

also check out City by clifford simak, but reading a summary of this will make it seem really nonsensical.
Stranger in a Strange Land if you are a in any way a hippy.
When Worlds Collide is a good classic.

Starts with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which started as a radio show and was adapted to a book and then 2 different movies and a TV series

the name of the complete bound works, which includes 6 stories, is "The Ultimate hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"
