Goodkind's shit. Jordan's dead. Erikson's good, but way too convoluted for a lot of people. That leaves GRRM and Bakker.

Lynch and Abercrombie are both pretty damned good too.

I respect your right to these opinions but if an authors death made them unimportant then we would't have to study Mark Twain or Dickens in school (both of whom I hate lol).

Salvatore is pretty good, easy read.  The Drizzit story line gets a little redundent though; have you read the Caderly series?

And it's Sara Douglas by the way  ;)

I will have to check out that author some time, but I don't have much time for reading right now. Btw nice signature, and I have read the cadderly series. I liked it a lot. My favorites are still with Drizzt though, because I like to watch his character evolve.

I wasn't saying Jordan was bad, it'd just be more interesting I think if we only considered authors that are still currently alive.

If you haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire, make them the next couple of books you read. GRRM is on a whole other level in terms of fantasy authors. I was kind of disappointed by the 4th book and his fatass is taking years to write the 5th one, but it's still worth the read.

It's well worth it. As are Bakker's books.

Steven Erikson. His fantasy books (especially Midnight Tides) are fantastic imo

question #1 cuz you seem to be in love with him ;)

is the newest WOT coming out anytime soon? i know they were getting a ghost writer to finish something or other, but i dont know what happened after that,

and #2, obviously Salvatore Is the Bomb, But you really need to start reading some stuff by New authors who havnt been around forever., There is so much potential in some new authors Like Robin Hobb
and you cant forget the wonderful Elizabeth Hayden
