Why haven't you read the books?  The movies are garbage in comparison.

I absolutely hate the movies. I refuse to watch them now. You can't possibly take as much detail as the books had and put them into a movie with a reasonable time frame.

I really liked Goblet of Fire. I thought that one was the best because in the end you knew things got serious. I just loved the tournament too.

Not everything has to be hardcore or dark to be enjoyable.

Thank you. I feel the exact same way, I haven't watched any after the 3rd one. The movies ruin the books so much.

Was just about to make a topic about harry potter. I just recently picked up the last book and am about 250 pages in. Its great but so has the rest of the series. J.K. Rowling has definately created one of the greatest book series's of all time.

I think Harry Potter is a great platform for young readers to get into more adult aimed books. I loved reading all of them but The Half Blood Prince is definately the best for me. I really didn't have a clue who the half blood prince was until it told me in the book and I was like noway!!

If you like Harry Potter i'd definately recommend reading: LOTR and The Hobbit, Twilight saga, Sabriel Lirael and Abhorsen by Garth Nix.
