No offense to any fans, but both series tend to be very generic and formulaic fantasy -- and I speak from experience, having been an avid reader of Jordan and Goodkind in my youth.

Try some George R. R. Martin or Steven Erikson and you'll never go back!

To any Martin/Erikson fans: check out Tom Lloyd's 'Twilight Reign' series. He's got a similar dark/gritty tone blended with an incredibly imaginative world.

They're both shit. But at least jordan doesn't try to club me over the head with badly argued political propaganda and lame ass strawmen.

WoT > SoT.

Now anyone who thought this was a worthwhile topic, go read some Martin, Bakker, Simmons, or Wolfe. See what real fantasy is like.

I haven't read SoT but I don't imagine I would enjoy it more than WoT

Yeah I ordered and read the first 3 books of SoT in like 7 days... so I would say they were pretty damn good. The next 6 books have already been ordered.

But all in all, they both are pretty much the same. Their characters and character development is very similar.

Martin's books will be the next ones I read when I finish SoT, for sure. I've been eying them for a long time now but havent gotten my hands on one yet.

Obviously the Wheel of Time, Time contains the substance of Truth... and Truth is a componant of Time, so Time > Truth
