I'd prefer to be Rand smile.gif

To say if they're worth the read, I'd say it's 10 times better than The Lord of The Rings imo, without any exageration. I discovered this series translated in french, and I could wait for the translations so I began to read 'em in English.

I read them in English and I even went so far as to present them in French at school. Pretty much everyone's face blanched at the mention of the size of the series, but it got my teacher's interest (even though she did not go so far as to read it of course smile.gif).

J'ai une question pour toi, RamasseTonDrum: Est-ce-qu'on peut parler en Francais ici aussi? C'est juste que la literature n'est pas exclusivement une chose anglaise....

As for me, I'd like to be Mat, the lucky bastard (although, having said that, that's just his dice-rolling tongue.gif)

That's right, Mat is really a cool char smile.gif

If you want to speak in french, just come in the french forum and create a topic about the wheel of time, you will be welcome. But here, as it's a common aera, we have to speak in the same language, whitch is English.

We should come up with a list a characters and some sort of poll or classification. Here would be mine:

Rand - t3h n00b - 0/10
Perrin - Wolfbrother, nuff said - 8/10
Mat - Lucky Bastard (well, not literally) - 9/10
Padan Fain - Evilz0r? - 7/10 but only because you can respect him in a small and meagre way I suppose .... or not.
Moiraine - Cheater (I mean luring away little children, how bad can you get?) - 8/10
Lan - OOOOO the sombre one - 5/10?
Aviendha / Elaine / Min - INSANE? I mean RAND???? what got in their heads? I must be the taveren bit, nothing to do with him actually - 9/10 because they're gorgeous.

Coming up with a list of Forsaken soon, although I kinda love them all tongue.gif with an average of 8/10 for all since they easily own rand...

There are 10 so far in the series.

Thanks for the correction. In that case, I have only read the first 7!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok now I was able to vent my disappointment at all of your (y'alls?) lack of knowledge about this AMAZING series of books, let me tell you all (HEATHENS!!!) that there are 11 books in the actual series (Eye of the World, Great Hunt, Dragon Reborn, Shadow rising, Fires of Heaven, Lord of Chaos, Crown of swords, Path of Daggers, Winter's Heart, Crossroads of twilight, Knife of dreams). There is also 1 Prequel (New Spring) and The World of Robert Jordan's the wheel of time by him and Teresa Patterson.

These books are bloody awsome and not long whatsoever imo. Some 10000 (yes, ten thousand) pages of kickin' literature and really good plots make up for a very short read if you are up for it. Arguably the main story does get somewhat convoluted and drawn out later on in the series but these are A MUST READ (YES, MUST, MUST, MUST, READ SERIES OF BOOKS). HEATHENS!!!!!!!

Just a little question: Who wants Rand to die? Please say: "YES that lucky bastard manages to bed three peaches (Min, Aviendha and Elayne)"

Are they worth the read?
As good as Eragon/Eldest, Harry Potter, R.A. Salvator?

Yes, better than Harry Potter by far dry.gif.... haven't read the others. I have red The Book of words, Pern, A song of ice and fire, belgariad, mallorean, tamuli, ellenium, discworld, empire, harry potter, and lots, lots more madieval fantasy and this is among THE VERY BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best series i have read so far. I just finished the Knife of dreams(10th or 11th book, not quite sure which) and I was just amazed. The charecters, the plots, and settings are all just great. Rand, elayne, Egwene, Min, Aviendha, Taim, The Forsaken, Mat, Perrin, Nynaeve, Lan all play great roles that make the book flow nicely. I'd really reccoment people that dont mind reading 10k+ Pages to try this series out, it's worth it.

Edit: I Predict Moiraine will be found by rand & The Old Gleeman(Cant Remember his name)
Lan will finally get his revenge on those that killed his city.

The first few books were amazing.
Then, after around book 6 or so, Jordon lost the plot.
He writes more about, what every single person is wearing, cups of tea, faile and perrin whining about nothing (this takes 3 books) than anything else.
Some parts are good, others are boring.

well, it is not an enterprise you should take light-heartedly. It will absorb a lot of your time and if school or work or family need take a lot of your time I would suggest posponing it smile.gif. I know I am while my final exams are taking place.
