Neither, if I want to read a kids book I'll read His Dark Materials by Phillip Pulman.

Did I ever say that? Harry Potter and LotR are, as far as I'm concerned, kids books. And if I were to want to read a kids book, I'd read His Dark Materials.
I happen to be a big fan of the fantasy genre, something anyone who regularly visits this subforum would know because I always suggest fantasy series that I enjoyed to other people.
Next time don't jump to conclusions.

Have you even read HP? Cause the books are nothing like the movies, and imo the book suits most ages.

Same here .. HP is rly more exciting then Lotr ( to read the book ) but the movie is lord of the rings > Harry Potter.

seriously i cannot believe anyone would conceive this question...

ROWLING IS A STEALING AMATEUR BITCH! seriously.

go read some old Horowitz books (Grieselstate for example) and tell me that it doesn't seem a bit too familiar....

Yes, I have read HP, i find them childish at best. Anyone that considers the books to be "dark" needs to go read the Prince of Nothing series.
