Any books by that guy that wrote 'Fight Club', his name escapes me at the moment....

Man, read faster! I finished harry potter within 24 hours! Loved it....

I dunno, I guess it depends on what types of books interest you. You can always ask for recommendations from the bookstore employees...tongue.gif

You should check out the "Dream of Eagles" series by Jack Whyte. It has about 11 books, and is quite interesting. It follows the life of a Roman legionary, who fights his way through many real life historic battles mostly in Britian. After about the 3rd or 4th book, it takes a turn into Arthurian legend. They are very good, and you may like them.

Referring anyone to the overly bloated Wheel of Time series is just cruel. Especially in light of recent events. They may get wrapped up in the characters and the world, watch it go absolutely NOWHERE for 5+ books, than potentially not have an end.

And Eragorn is worthless, derivative, amatuerish, dime-store hack tripe. Not recommended for anyone over the age of 5.

Pick up Altered Carbon from Richard Morgan.
The Lies of Locke Lamorra from Scott Lynch.
George Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series.
Second the Bakker Prince of Nothing series.
Neil Gaiman's American Gods is a decent read.
Perdido Street Station by China Meiville is a decent pick.
SnowCrash is a genre classic as well.

And Christopher Moore's 'Lamb, the Gospel of Biff, Jesus's childhood friend' is probably one of the funniest books I can remember reading.

Always Dune. Some Heinlen. (big fan of Starship Troopers)

If you're a sci-fi or fantasy reader, you really can't go wrong with any of the above.
