But I think Dumbledore is dead, and it WAS snape that killed him.
They agreed on this, and Snape didn't really want to do this, because Snape is a good guy!

Why:
Snape and Dumbledore obviously have been planning something, and Snape didn't want to do this.
Dumbledore trusted Snape with his life. When Voldemort (Tom Riddle) asked for the DADA job, he rejected him Dumbledore is a good judge of character!
JK has stated that Dumbledore IS definetly dead. JK also said that in book 6, someone close to Harry would DIE.. Who else than dumbledore died??
Snape have had several chances to kill Dumbledore.. Why would he do this in front of other death eaters? To prove something perhaps?
Snape didn't want to perform the AV curse on him, when killing Dumbledore, and Dumbledore pledged for him to do it:

The hatred and revulsion Snape felt, was not for Dumbledore, but for Snape actually having to perform this. He hated himself for it.
Dumbledore is a pruod wizard who would on no account fear death. Why would he beg? He would never beg Snape to spare his life (maybe beg him not to turn over to the other side), but more likely he would beg Snape to kill him. He knows how hard this is for Snape, but he begs Snape to kill him according to their plans
Snape killing dumbledore is part of a great plan that Dumbledore has made, and we will find out all about this in the seventh book.
Snape is good, and we haven't seen the last of Dumbledore.. But he is definitely dead, because JK has said this!

I read both posts and think they are strong lines of reasoning, but I have to agree with you, based on the fact that JK has admitted Dumbledore is dead. I also think your insight into a plan between Dumbledore and Snapre is interesting - I hadn't thought of this before! Good work I think you might be on to something here...

Dumbledore's character is associated with the phoneix. there were many forshadowing of his death in the previous novels. yes he's dead, but also it is very likely he will raise from the ashes.

I dont believe Dumbledore will do a Gandalf on us this time...

your right on some parts. i don't believe snape wanted this and when dumble said "severious... please..." i think he was telling him to do it. wether or not he is dead, you said "to prove something" i've come to the conclusion that its to prove to something or (what i believe) to make them think he's dead. i don't dumble is dead, that would really drop my favor for HP is he is. im hoping hes still very alive, and snape did it in front of the death eaters to make them convince vold that he is actually dead. this is my assumption but we'll find out in a couple months wont we

I also had half of that theory.. not all though not that he'dd beg snape to kill him..
But that snape was good, dumble was dead and it was planned
(And i had basicly all right about RAB - didnt "knew" he died there though, but i "knew" he had Kreacher with him
