- What flute do I use to attract it?

- What caliber to use?

I have been a similar position as you are now, i was looking for a DIY book i decided on Turn of the screw, i read the whole damn book and not once was there a mention of a screwdriver or how to build anything using screws.

Im sorry to tell you this but To kill a mocking bird is also a book containing no advice on how to actually kill a mocking bird so canetoado was telling the truth Books Shit...

Im unsure of what flute to use
dressing up as a worm will attract the bird for sure or just getting your worm out may also attract him (maybe you even get some sucky sucky action from Mr Mockingbird)
not sure about guns i usually just use a crossbow

But I used my duck flute and it works amazingly well.
