Deaths gate cycle by wiesse and hickman, brent weeks dark angel trilogy, the silmarillion, anything by r.a salvatore, and finally, the works of raymond e feist starting with magician.

malazan book of the fallen is nice, farseer trilogy by hobbs is pretty good. Last rune series by mark anthony, lord of isles by david drake, kings blades by duncan, belgariad by david eddings (redemption of althalus by him is awesome as well), darkwood and deathstalker series by simon green, Recluse series by l.e. modesitt, book of swords by fred saberhagen, memory sorry and thorn by tad williams, dragonlance novels by margaret weis are all the more popular ones i can think of off the top of my head.

Wheel of Time
Dune
Ender's Game
Foundation
The Engines of God (name of first book, series is called Academy i believe)

The latter novels of the list are more along the lines of Science Fiction, but I think youll find yourself pleased with them. I couldnt finish the Wheel Of Time series, never got past book 6, but they were great to that point, and ill go back again one of these days and try.

Shannara was mentioned above, great novels. first started them when i was about 12 with The Sword of Shannara (no easy feat for someone as young as I was just beginning to enjoy reading). From there, follow the series in order. Somewhere before reading Armageddons Children, read Running with the Demon and its sequels.
