Hey guys. I've read a bunch of fantasy series over the years, but I haven't read any of R. A. Salvatore's work. I want this to change.
I read a lot of reviews that talked about The Legend of Drizzt, but I can't find where to begin.
I'm not sure how his series are organized, or if they are at all. But if they are, can someone give me some pointers to get me off in the right direction? Like, what one of his series to start with, etc.

I appreciate it guys. Thanks!

I have been reading and rereading his stuff for about 5 years now. Absolutely my favorite author and I am jealous you get to read it fresh.

The Icewind dale trilogy was released before the dark elf trilogy but the dark elf books are based before icewind dale.

So start
The Dark Elf Trilogy
then
Icewind Dale Trilogy

After that you can read the cleric quintet which I really recommend you do. You won't see the characters again for awhile but in his most recent books they were a large part of the series. And he writes them in a way where it's confusing if you haven't read all their series.

Then these are the rest of the arcs.
    Paths of Darkness
    The Sellswords
    The Hunter's Blades Trilogy
    Transitions
    Neverwinter

After you finish the Drizzt storyline I really recommend checking out his other series. The saga of the first king is particularly good also.

These books are amazing, I feel like a nerd, but I have literally sat there for 5+ hours reading them after I told myself to go to bed.

Coming from someone who never reads, that's a lot for me.

I'd start at the Icewind Dale Trilogy. They're like my #1 fantasy books of all time.

I started.... 10+ years ago on The Dark Elf Trilogy. I feel its best to start there because it begins at his birth. Great saga... haven't read anything past circa 2008ish however, sadly.

He did, but it makes far more sense to start with the Dark Elf Trilogy.... historically speaking, it's the beginning... He wrote the Dark Elf Trilogy after the critical acclaim from Icewind Dale.
