Why do you (bookworms) love to read (aside from entertainment/leisure)? Obviously your vocab improves as well as your overall knowledge of the language, but what else? Do you read it just for the heck of it or because it's "good" for you?

Also which do you prefer reading, fiction or non fiction? I like reading both, but it depends on my mood...

For example, I read fiction by 'skimming' through the lines, picturing the scenes in my head (kind of like a movie). I find fiction to be more relaxing and easy to read.
On the other hand, non-fiction (at least the ones i read) require more thinking, so I tend to hang on each sentence a bit longer than I would on fiction books. While they can be very informative, I like reading them because they're interesting.

Just thought I would get a discussion going on, as opposed to the repetitive "what are you reading" or "which books to read" sort of topics :p

The only literature I ever read is my own.

Diary of an Alpha Male

Entry One
I once gave my girlfriend such a powerful consensual orgasm in the military position that she regressed into a past life as a humming bird. I was forced to lock her in a dark cupboard after a few hours. She kept shitting everywhere and flying at the windows.

When have you ever heard of humming birds blowing anything up or even attacking another animal? If the world was full of more people who thought they were humming birds, the world would be a safer place.

Entry Two
I love the feeling of walking into a room and realizing I am the tallest, most alpha male in it. At 6'6", I am hardly modest about being waist-deep in pussy. Women are biologically programmed to crave the cocks of tall men to create superior tall offspring.

You shouldn't take it personally, betas. It's just natural selection. Be proud that evolution is doing what it's supposed to do by rejecting your inferior genetic code.

Entry Three
My superior specimens will launch a rape crusade much like Genghis Khan's rape of Asia and the Middle East. The far reaches of his sperm can be traced to millions of privileged descendants today.

I aspire to become the next Genghis Khan, infiltrating the vaginas of the unwilling masses. This will require countless short-term sexual conquests, preferably in the form of many one-night stands.

Entry Four
A recent run in with a class II beta male further solidified my philosophy of life. If a male is under 6'1" tall, he should not even bother trying to court a female. His pathetic genetic makeup would only further taint the gene pool of the human species.

Thus, it is important to win the genetic lottery and become a 6'6" demigod like myself. Females should take it upon themselves to deny vaginal entry to beta males in order to prevent the defiling of our glorious species.

Entry Five
It was recently my girlfriend's birthday.  In celebration, I took her out to a fancy dinner.  Two hours later, I was getting fancy with that ass in a 4-star hotel room.  I opened up a newly-bought can of whipped cream and ate out her freshly-waxed vagina and pooper.  This was definitely my kind of cuisine.

Playtime was over, however.  I set that ass ablaze with my behemoth cock, which had longed to reconstruct her vagina walls.  You know she received a proper fucking because she began to walk like a penguin on the way to kitchen.  For my efforts, she assembled a BLT sandwich and asked for me to continue redecorating her vagina daily.

Entry Six
Short men were created for our amusement. Women don't like them, bosses don't respect them, and children find them whimsical. Their constant need to prove themselves is hilariously pathetic.

If you are over 6 feet tall, and as long as you don't look like a sloth, women practically drool for your cock because they know you carry superior genetics. Short guys are not even real men. They are merely grown children or perhaps even subhuman.

I read because the books provide an escape from reality..The books I read are usually places I wish I could go. I sometimes read informative books about science or math but I prefer watching tv for informative stuff (i.e. science /history/ nat geo channels)

Was this from a Dance with Dragons? Or did someone famous actually say that?
I know it was in the book, but I don't know if someone else said it before.. lol

And I read to escape this dismal world. Also, I enjoy reading more than watching television or something that you could do instead, to entertain yourself. Not sure why, but I always feel better after reading for an hour, rather than watching an hour of TV. :P
