Wheel of time is a great, but a few of the books later in the series just seem a little boring.

If you like a fun, easy read you can try the Dragonlance series.

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy by Douglas Addams - I guarantee you'll laugh out loud before page 50
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut - really anything by him, it's incredibly funny stuff, witty, insightful, banned in a lot of schools cuz he uses the f word from time to time
Garfield by Jim Davis :P
Stephen King - you've heard of or seen the movie, now try he book...he used to be really good.

I'm reading the Diary of Vaslav Nijinsky.

In the briefest form, it is the real translation of a long ago famous Russian dancer who went in to psychosis, wrote in his diary for six weeks as his insanity peaked, then went in to an asylum. I revealed nothing, though!
