yeah the tv show is fucking stupid. But A buddy told me its a 12 book epic series better than LOTR , the hobbit, all the forgotten realms books etc etc..

Any opinions on it?

and there is 12 books, the prequel is called "Debt of Bones"


its an amazing series, the show does it absolutely no justice, the first 5-6 episodes where ALMOST based on the books, then it took a giant shit all over the storyline of the books

was good series, when i heard of the last book i ordered a signed copy haha.

i loved it personally, its easily worth reading.law of the nines was ok but i liked in more than the confessor.

Law of Nines is not part of the series, it just loosely ties into that world several hundred years in the future

SoT sucks.

Do yourself a favour and read something like Bakker's Prince of Nothing trilogy.

how far does the tv series deviate from the books? ive seen it on tv a few times but just can't bring myself to watch it.

And then richard becoming the lord rahl and leading everyone in the fight against the old world?
