Should I read this book before I see the movie? Heard from a lot of people that it is a good read and that I should read it through before seeing it in theatres.

I've personally never read it, but you should always read the book that a movie is based on.

Well then I have no idea why you're bothering to post on jsp when clearly there's a minimal amount of opinions worth hearing on jsp. This is the internet, you get a variety, which is good, but bare in mind if you will that young teenagers are the majority. Also, the internet is almost like going to a place you know you'll never come back and everyone you meet will never see you again, like Vegas, you can be whoever you want. Are there teenagers who are actually happy everyday of their lives? Sure, but there's not a plethera of them to spare, and although the internet may be universal, the ratio of imbeciles:decency is like measuring albino to normal animals.

Should you read twilight? Well, do you like romance? Or should I gain mindreading powers and come back? Want an overview of the plot before you commit to 4 days of reading (depending on your speed of reading) 4 books that are at least 500 pages? Sure why not, so here's the thing, the story revolves around the supernatural. It's a love story, which you already know, but about vampires. How does that work? Well, better than you think actually, because the most attractive trait about a vampire is also the most obvious; immortality of course. So what happens when only one is immortal, fast, strong, and can read people's minds while the other is a total klutz whose days seem to be numbered with each incident? A lot of playful, sarcastic, bittersweet happenings, and the basics of a lovestory, drama. There's a sufficient level of comedy to keep your mood down to a boil, and a balance of emotions which the author excels at portraying. Don't try to predict anything, because you really can't, and it's just not worth the trouble to stop and imagine a different outcome when theres a new climax on the next page. Go ahead, get lost, spend a few hours after daylife in your room, and if your parents ask, tell them you're reading. If they give you a suspicious raised eye-brow look, tell them the book is over 500 pages. And when you're done with the series, go ahead, watch the movie. Is it as good as the book? Nope, not really. Will it keep you entertained for the 2 hours and 1 minute of airing? Sure, it covers alot more of the book than Harry potter does with their 150 million budget while Twilight dishes out only 37 million and already raked in over 130 million. Do you absolutely have to read the book to understand everything? No, like how you can play a chess game without knowing strategies, but you'll miss out.

So after you finish the series, then what? Well it's always good to balance mental and physical health, so go ahead, try something new. Sports? Not much of a fan? Well try fencing, it's easy to learn and equal levels for bother men and woman. Foil for stabs, Saber for slash, and epee for points. Go ahead, choose a style. Then afterwards you can cool off with a nice cold bottle of Naked. It's made of purely fruits, and designed to fill you with vitamins without the hassle of peeling and chewing. Then what? Thinking back and comparing the movie to the book? Well visually, it was fine, and Edward did a good job. But Bella didn't really feel like Bella did she, however much her appearance fits the bill. Remembering that scene where they're in his room and she finds out his taste in music? What was that song called again? Don't remember? Don't sweat it, I got you covered. It's Claire de Lune From Debussy. Where have you heard this before? Probably in the ending scene of Oceans 11. So, now you might be interested in a couple more classical songs on piano? Try Kiss the Rain, by Yiruma. Soothing, isn't it. Try it with a cigarette, the nicotine buzz makes it that much better. Don't smoke? then don't start, that was bad advice, really. The addiction level isn't as high as you think, I smoke all the time and I'm not addicted. Haha, *joke joke*. But really, I smoke maybe... a couple times a month? whenever it's a good time, after drinking, or when someone else standing next to me is smoking. I carry around a silver cigarette case with 9 sticks of Marlboro 27 brands inside. Why? It's an accessory, it looks good and it sometimes can be used as a conversation starter, you know, if you enjoy the badgering questions from strangers you met at a party in some dude's house whose name seems to escape your memory the moment after he said it.

Now here's the big part. If your a guy, and someone asks you if you read the twilight series and enjoyed it, what the hell do you say? Casual is best. Start out saying something like "I know it's sort of a girl book, but I saw the movie so I found the book at Barnes and Nobles and gave it a shot". Do you like it? "More than the movie". Is it good? "Not as good as playboy". Bam, you're off the hook, now pull out that cigarette case and light a jack. Then what? What else can you do? Here's my answer: Don't live someone elses life, try out your own cards, and if that doesn't work then you can go ahead and everything exactly opposite of normal.

P.S. A good poker face is really helpful when life gives you a shitty hand.
