people freak out about his extreme attention to detail in the torture department. (Goodkind is obviously into S&M).
if you can stomach past the first couple books and their shock value, its a good series. i believe that he's a pretty good storyteller

Meh, his "torture" scenes aren't as violent as most of the battle scenes in Prince of Nothing.

it just makes me laugh when people get upset over the "torture" in his books.
