My dad pulled his old Canon T70 out of his closet the other day. We're getting a roll of film developed.

It has a 50mm f/1.8 lens, and a Tamron push-pull 35-135mm f3.5-4.2 lens.

Would it be a waste of time to get a roll of film and take it out on a trip?

Not at all, shooting film is a great learning curve and a lot of fun :)

Alrighty. We'll go get this old thing of film developed to see what photos were on it, and while we do that I'll pick up a roll of film.

Color, or black and white?

I was going to get a roll of 32 or so, and see how that goes. developing will be $16+, so I won't do this frequently, but god... the manual focus on this thing is amazing. If my D5200 had a viewfinder like this T70 does, I'd be manual focusing on 90% of my shots... why we moved away from such great manual focus viewfinders & lenses is beyond me.

36*

Depends where you're going really and what the scenery is like. Velvia slide film is great for colours, used a lot of it many years ago. Tri-x is a great black and white film.

Manual focus disappeared because it's a pain in the ass and generally inaccurate lol
