if you like the flag more to pop out you could use a flash next time - due the rest is far away it will stay dark. the blur comes from zooming in while shutter is up?

This. It's close though.

I zoomed in as far as I could on the flag, and as I took the picture, I zoomed out. Giving it the effect of dragging your eye to the middle of the picture. It was getting pretty dark and I knew it would be hard to get this perfect. I definitely want to go back and try again with more lighting. I was taught about this method while shooting cars from being straight in front of them while moving.

I was a pretty good distance away, probably about 75-85 ft away. Do you think the flash would of reached it enough?
