I'm considering picking up a polarizing filter. I want to step up some of my landscape photography, as well scenic photography particularly involving the sky or water. Is there anyone here who has an opinion about polarizing filters in photography? I realize polarizing filters and ND filters are the two most useful/common photography filters.
There's a Hoya one that sells for $50 which causes some vignetting, and a better one that costs $100 that supposedly is wonderful. The biggest problem for me is the cost: I'd like to be able to put it on each of my lenses without having to use a converter & be unable to use a lens hood. I'm also not sure if it's going to add enough to my photography to really warrant the investment. My largest filter thread is 67mm, and that applies to my normal zoom, telephoto zoom, and 85mm prime, so I could just get some conversion rings for my 50mm & 35mm. Any input on that matter?
