Still studying for exams. Huddled up in the house, can't get out and do stuff (yet). So I headed out to the back yard (since it just snowed a little bit). Everything taken at f1.8 to practice a little more with the 85mm (on crop sensor).

I'm trying to get the gf's permission to post some candid street photos (of her). I really enjoy people photos a lot... I find dog photos to be more difficult to frame (crouching down with a bad viewfinder).

I guarantee I'll be posting some photos this month (to show where I've gotten with photography so far, and to continue practicing & get some critiques). It'll be a little bit of a pain since I'll be without my 35mm for a while (probably a few weeks). I haven't been able to do piano or much photography this semester, so I'll have a few fun days out with the camera.

Just posting this one because I enjoyed the face:

Another one I like but I framed it a little wrong: http://oi42.tinypic.com/2lkz5zd.jpg

Thanks.

I added blue highlight in a little bit (not white balance). Looking for input if that improves a snowy image (colder feel)?

Poorly lit room, don't have a flash yet, but this one was for a Christmas card (girlfriend's dog). Really having difficulties editing dark areas (my screen is really bad with that, in Lightroom the photo looks great across the board, once in Jpeg it comes out with oversaturated blacks in some areas).

If I had better lighting or a flash, I'd have dropped the lens down to f2.2 or f2.8 to keep the other eye in a little bit better focus.

Do note that despite all the dog photos, I really don't *just* take photos of dogs... hahahaha... I don't have any willing models for portraiture (not going out & looking for one either).

I think if the right eye were more in focus I would like it a lot. But for now it just seems a little off for some reason. It has a really cool feel to it outside of the focusing.

Yeahhhh :( Edited my post on that above.

And thanks : ) It's being printed nevertheless -- it was sort of a job getting it done with the limitations of the room & whatnot. In time for Christmas.
