I dont know if this is right place to ask about this but I guess some one here could know about these printers a bit.

When reading about photo printers it seems like Epson and Canon are best to go with, or is there something else consider? What specific models should I look for?

Will be used for photo printing only.
Must be able to print A4 size.
Budget 500 and 1000.

How big is the difference in picture quality with price tags of 200 vs 500 vs 1000 for example?
