I've tried optimizing my photos for facebook. The last photo I sent out to my girlfriend I brought down to 110kb, optimized it, set it in sRGB. Facebook *STILL* decided to reduce its quality down to 54kb automatically. Yet, I have friends who upload photos and they get away with things all the way up to 200kb!

Does anyone have any knowledge about how to get around this issue?

Did you check the upload as high quality box?

Best two resolutions for Facebook pictures:

1. To show the images as large as possible on Facebook, make the long size of your image 2048px.
2. If you would prefer to keep your images looking nicely but in a smaller size make the long side 960px.
