I got the 85mm 1.8G today for my birthday :) Really happy with the lens. It's amazing. Below are some photos, one taken with my Galaxy S4. It's all in low-light conditions, with limited creative options because I just quickly snapped some pics to test the lens out :) ISO's were around 1600 and up, aperture at f1.8 throughout everything, and shutter speeds were below 1/100 most of the time (got to practice a majorly steady hand). It's night-time, bad lighting in the house -- flash is on my to-get list.

So sharp at f1.8 (and ISO is 1600): http://oi41.tinypic.com/731iqb.jpg
(tinypic resized the photo :-/... even at 1:1 it's sharppppp)

Thanks. You're a positive individual. And so full of cheer at that.

I absolutely love my 70-300 VR lens, as well as my 85mm 1.8G. I need a good zoom range lens, so my 16-85mm is wonderful, though I might've gotten away with a $300 cheaper 18-105. And finally, my 35mm 1.8G was $200 and I paid for it with futureshop gift card money, and the only reason I can regret that purchase is because it needs fixing. I got my D5200 at a discount ($560 instead of $700). The only money I've possibly wasted is getting a $700 DX zoom when I could've paid $350 for something similar.

So to say that I should've went full-frame: I would've had to pay $2000 for the body, and oh wait... I would already have spent more than I have (minus the 85mm 1.8G which I didn't buy), and so I'd have ZERO lenses up until now.

So damn sharp @ f1.8. Even in fairly dim light the focus is good. Haven't gotten to take it out for a real test drive yet.

When it comes to lens correction, there's pretty much nothing to correct. No vignetting, no warping, no nothing... it's just perfect. Damn perfect.
