haha great effort mate :D

what's your exposure with that bad boy?

I also think the ice light is a rip off. I was really close with the creator's brother and got a chance to check it out before release a few years back and I always thought it would be an expensive gimmick for the wedding cowboys haha

cool maybe you can help me out and tell me what did they use to cover the light? My v1.0 using white baking paper from ASDA :)
camera setting was as fallow : f1,8 1/160sec iso320 diy ice light was placed from the subject something like this (picture below) 30cm -50cm..

That's actually a pretty decent output for just a torch.

Show us what it's like in darkness? Spread and all that?

Cover the light? You mean the inside for reflection?

its not bad yeah, i could bump f to 2,8 and maybe get away with 1/60s but Aleks is like dynamite can't stay still for few sec :)
i will be doing some further test shots tonight, will post them asap.
pic below showing original ice light and i wondering what did they use for cover (that white bit where the light coming)... plexiglass, frosty plastic or maybe something else...

ahhhh the diffusion is probably a thin plastic type material mate lightly coated to make it semi translucent, like you said :)

The only photography I do now is for work. Research, grant writing, etc.

I would if it includes a complimentary PANAM
